Your voice where it matters
I am a Senator because I wholeheartedly believe that everyone in our country has a right to an equality of opportunity, that our government has a duty to foster and nourish enterprise, job creation and to make sure that work pays; I believe in the law and order foundations of Fine Gael, that every person has a right to security of their person, of their home, in their community. I have seen first-hand the integrity of our party, and am proud of the integrity shown down through decades in stepping up when our country needs us, making the hard decisions in truth and honesty and most of all I believe in Fine Gael’s message of hope – hope for a right to home ownership, hope for education, hope for employment, hope for security, health and wellbeing, hope for the future of our children.

At the bequest of Fine Gael’s Leo Varadkar’s, Taoiseach Micheal Martin appointed Mary to the Seanad in June 2020. As a member of the Oireachtas, Mary has accomplished much in the Seanad, particularly as the appointed Seanad Spokesperson on Children, Disability, Equality, Integration, and Privacy Rights. During this time she has advocated on the behalf of People affected through Apartment Defects, Families through Surrogacy, Restoration of the Iveagh Markets, School Places for Children with Additional Needs to name just a few. If anything is conveyed through Mary’s work, it is her dedication to the constituents of Dublin South Central, her colleagues in the Fine Gael party and a Just Society for all.
She serves on the Joint Oireachtas Committees for (1) Children, Disability, Equality, Integration and Youth; (2) Housing, Local Government and Heritage and (3) Disability Matters. She is currently serving on the Special Joint Committee on Assisted Dying and in 2022 served on the Special Joint Committee on International Surrogacy.
Mary is proud to represent Dublin South Central and is determined to be a strong voice for the people in this constituency. If you have any issues or queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
